People have always been at the heart of what I do.
Long before talent acquisition became my career, I was working with and around people.
From my early years in hospitality to selling and delivering corporate events, I learned the importance of truly listening — developing a deep understanding of what people and businesses need, and finding the right solutions to meet those needs.
I didn’t actually plan a career in recruitment. I was somewhat pulled into it over a decade ago by the Store Manager of House of Fraser in Guildford, then one of the busiest department stores in the group and an environment with exceptionally high standards for customer service.
She saw how I had built and developed a high-performing team around me and asked me to do the same for the wider store.
And so my career in talent acquisition began.A journey through complex, world-class organisations.
Since then, my experience has taken me through complex, world-class organisations like Johnson Controls, CBRE, Gartner and Ball Corporation.
I’ve built Talent Acquisition functions from the ground up, transformed existing ones and supported businesses through rapid growth and change, such as greenfields and global re-organisations with multiple urgent hiring waves. Me and my teams supported vacancies across retail, IT and tech, manufacturing and engineering, maintenance and facilities management, sales and almost every corporate function in between.
Throughout it all, one principle has remained constant:
Great talent acquisition has two customers at its heart — the business and the candidate.
The best TA functions understand both. They combine commercial strategy with data and a genuinely human experience, creating hiring practices that work for the organisation, its hiring teams and the people considering joining it.
I saw an opportunity to do something I had been building towards throughout my career: take the breadth of experience I had gained across industries and organisations and use it to help more than one business.
That’s how Talendō was born.
I partner with growing businesses to build, strengthen and scale their talent acquisition capabilities.
Why Talendō?
The name brings together talent and the Japanese dō (道) — meaning the way or the path.
More than simply getting from one point to another, dō can represent a discipline or a way of doing something: a path shaped through practice, learning and continuous improvement.
That idea reflects how I see talent acquisition. There is no single formula that works for every organisation. It’s about understanding where a business is today, where it wants to go, and building the right path to get there.
